Gender inequality continues to limit opportunities for women and girls in many parts of northern Kenya. Deep-rooted cultural norms, economic barriers, and limited access to education and resources often restrict women’s participation in decision-making processes and economic activities.
ISKA is committed to promoting gender equality by empowering women socially and economically. Through skills training, entrepreneurship support, and access to financial resources, women are gaining the tools they need to become self-reliant and active contributors to their communities.
Addressing gender-based violence (GBV) is also a central component of ISKA’s work. The organization supports prevention and response mechanisms, including community awareness campaigns, survivor support services, and strengthening local protection systems. These efforts aim to create safer environments where women and girls can thrive.
By promoting women’s leadership and participation in governance and development processes, ISKA is helping to shift societal norms and build more inclusive communities. Empowered women not only improve their own lives but also drive positive change for families and future generations.
